Supporting the Uptown Shelter
Last night, between 4,000 and 5,000 people in the Charlotte
metro spent the night without adequate housing. With such
a need, what can you do?
The
Uptown Shelter is the only permanent, year-round
homeless shelter in Mecklenburg County dedicated to serving
the population of adult homeless men. The Shelter’s mission
is to care for people who are homeless and provide them with
opportunities to rebuild their lives.
The Uptown Shelter is a registered non-profit, 501(c)(3)
organization supported by local churches, corporations and
businesses, civic groups, and individuals in the
Charlotte-Mecklenburg area. We are also a member agency of
the United Way.
Additional funds are received from Mecklenburg County, both
state and federal governments, and private foundations.
We
count on the generosity of our financial partners to ensure
that we are accomplishing our goals. Please consider
stopping by the Shelter for a tour of our facilities and
talking with our Director of Fund Development about a
planned giving program or a monthly pledge gift to help the
homeless men of Charlotte.
Methods of Direct Giving
You are able to give direct donations to the Uptown Men’s
