EZHelp Program

The Easiest Way to Help Homeless Men Rebuild Their Lives

 

What is EZHelp?

EZHelp is the monthly giving program of the Uptown Shelter. EZHelp allows you to easily and effortlessly support the work of the Uptown Shelter on a monthly basis, without writing checks, licking envelopes, buying stamps or going to the Post Office. Monthly gifts are made via Direct Debit from your checking account, by credit card draft, or through your bank’s automated BillPay feature.

What your monthly gift provides...

$10 -- One week of bus passes for a client seeking employment
$15 -- One hour of Case Management
$16.90 -- One day of Shelter for a homeless man
$20 -- One day of Special Needs Meals for men with medically restricted diets
$25 -- Hot breakfasts for 30 men
$50 -- Medication Co-Pays for 5 clients
$100 -- One week of fuel to transport clients to doctor’s appointments, Veterans Administration, and service providers.
$250 -- Payment of our utility costs for 1 day
$500 -- Shelters 1 client for 1 month
$1000 -- One month of laundry service for bed linens and towels

How Does EZHelp Work?

EZHelp uses the safefy and security of automated banking to support the work of the Uptown Shelter. When you become an EZHelp Giver, you become the most faithful type of partner we have - someone who supports our work on an ongoing monthly basis. Here’s how it works:
1. You complete the attached enrollment form signifying your desire to become an EZHelp Giver.
2. If you choose to give via Direct Debit or Credit Card, we setup the monthly direct debit from your checking account (please enclose a voided check) or transaction on your credit card account.
3. If you choose your bank’s automated BillPay feature, you simply designate the Uptown Shelter as one of your monthly bills with the amount you desire to give each month.
4. If you ever need to increase, decrease, cancel or change your EZHelp amount or information, simply contact our office. You may cancel or suspend at any time with a simple phone call or email.
5. You’ll receive an annual giving statement in January detailing all gifts made through EZHelp for income tax purposes.

► REDUCED COSTS: EZHelp reduces our administrative costs. When you become an EZHelp Giver, because we can count on your gift each month, we are able to reduce the appeals you receive throughout the year.
► REPORTING: Your monthly gift will be reflected on your monthly credit card or bank statement.
► FLEXIBILITY: You can increase, decrease, suspend or cancel your EZHelp partnership at any time by simply contacting our office.
