For a second year, the Uptown Shelter has received a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent evaluator of charities.

On June 20, 2007, the Bank of America E-Commerce and CheckFree Divisions held their 5fth Annual Golf Tournament to benefit the Uptown Shelter. Over $100,000 was raised to benefit the Uptown Shelter, A Child's Place and the Battered Women's Shelter. Initially implemented five years ago by Cathy Pullen, former Board Member of the Uptown Shelter, the golf tournament has grown in size each year and is the largest fundraising event for the Uptown Shelter.

For decades, Calvary Church of Charlotte has served breakfast to the men of the Uptown Shelter every Saturday morning without missing one week. Now their ministry has been featured in a video montage.
