Carson Dean
Executive Director |
|
Carson Dean has spent most
of the past decade working towards ending
homelessness in North Carolina. Most recently he
was the 10-Year Plan to End Homelessness coordinator
in Orange County and directed the South Wilmington
Street men’s shelter in Raleigh. Carson is native
to North Carolina, was raised in Raleigh, and
attended North Carolina State University (BA) and
Appalachian State University (MA). Carson is
married (Kris) and has one son (Riley). For the
past three years, the Dean family and their three
dogs have lived in Elon, NC.

Linda Miller
Volunteer and Community
Resources Coordinator |
Linda comes to US from a territory management,
corporate sales and event planning background
with an Interior Design Certificate. Linda has
volunteered with the homeless community for the
last eleven years through Urban Ministry Center
and local church ministries. Along with the
volunteer coordinator position she will reach
out to our community with seminars and training
focused on the goal of empowering individuals
and groups to get involved with our mission.

Andrea S. Williams

Coming to
Uptown Shelter in July 2007, Andrea Williams not
only assists Interim Executive Director Jeremi Snook, but she
has also forged new relationships with community
partners as well as helped to maintain existing
ones. Andrea has work experience in both the
for-profit and non-profit sectors, previously
working at United Way of Central Carolinas for
almost three years, first in the Marketing
Department and then the Community Investment
department, before joining Uptown Shelter.

Steve Eyler
Director of
Information Technology |
|
After 3 years of volunteer
work, Steve started working as "The Computer Guy" in
October of 2002 filling an outside contractor
position. In November of 2006, Steve dissolved his
computer consulting company and began working
full-time as the Director of Information Technology.
Beginning his career in the U.S. Marine Corps, he
now brings over 30 years of direct experience in
many facets of the IT industry. Steve is responsible
for the installation, configuration, upgrade, and
maintenance of all hardware and software client and
server systems. He performs the duties of network,
email, database, and security administrator, and
also provides project management support for all IT
related projects as well as future directional
consultant support.

Sherry O'Hara

Sherry joined the Shelter
Team in September 2007. She came to the Charlotte
area in 2003 from Cleveland, Ohio, where she grew up
and received her BBA in Finance from Cleveland State
University. Handling all accounting functions for
the Shelter and assisting the Operations Manager on
special projects are her duties.
